The production and trading company Grundalas was established in 1995 following the family business model. Today the company employs about 40 persons.
The company is established in Panevėžys region, in a location strategically advantageous with the distance of about 100 kilometres to Vilnius, Kaunas and Riga (Latvia).
The principal area of activity of the company is fish processing. The company uses such fish processing methods as fish salting, pickling, frying; it also produces a variety of culinary products. Also, Grundalas is engaged in trading in frozen and conserved fish production imported from other countries.
The company operating in Panevėžys region is engaged in processing herring, sprats, Baltic herring and other fish. The fish for the company to be processed is imported from Norway, Iceland and Latvia.
The annual output of Grundalas reaches about 500 tons of production. All the production of the company meets the standards established by the European Union. The major part of the company's production is marketed in the Lithuanian market, and part of it is exported to Germany, Poland and Ireland.
In 2003, the company implemented the HACCP quality management system, and in the same year was issued the European veterinary number for fish products.
Since 2005, the PC Grundalas has been a member of the Panevëþys Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
